All papers must be written in English.
The conference proceedings will be prepared from camera-ready manuscripts received from the authors.
There will be no proofreading and no opportunity for correction after submission.
-
Authors are recommended to prepare their manuscript using LaTeX.
The LaTeX template is provided through the WWW homepage which can be accessed by http://foil.riam.kyushu-u.ac.jp/.
A sample output using the LaTeX template is attached here in PDF file style.
Authors who are not familiar with LaTeX may use another software, but are suggested to prepare the manuscript in almost the same form as the attached sample.
-
The paper should be typed on high quality A4 size (210 X 297mm)
white paper using a lazer-jet printer.
The type area should be of 175mm width and 250mm hight, with left and top margins set to 20mm.
-
The total length of the paper including figures, tables and appendices should not exceed 10 pages.
-
As shown in the sample, title, author(s)' names and affiliations must be left-flushed.
The title should be typed with 17pt font (not bold-faced), author(s)' names with 12pt, and affiliations with 10pt in italic.
-
The abstract of the paper should be typed in a single column using 10pt font.
Begin the word ABSTRACT followed by a colon (:), and continue on the same line with one space beyond the colon.
Please control the spacing such that the vertical separation between the top end of a A4 paper and the paragraph of abstract is 90mm (see the output sample).
Skip 11mm at the end of the abstract. If you are using the LaTeX
template, there is no need to consider this point.
-
From the introduction (Section 1) of the paper,
the text must be typed in dual columns, using 10pt font. In the template, the column separation is set to 8mm, and the baseline skip is set to 4.3mm.
-
Number all section titles consecutively.
The first paragraph of all sections should be left-flushed.
The indent of a new paragraph is 5mm or 15pt.
Major headings should be in capital letters, not underlined and not bold-faced;
minor headings should be in lower case, italic, and not underlined.
-
Mathematical equations should be numbered consecutively from Eq. (1) to the end of the paper including appendices.
Use the equation number when referring to equations.
-
Give the consecutive numbers for figures and tables, respectively.
Skip one line above and below each of figures and tables.
Figures and tables may appear on the same page.
-
In citing references in the text, author's last name should be
followed by the year of publication; e.g.
"Ohkusu (1998) showed that ...." or "It has been demonstrated (Kashiwagi et al., 1998) that ....".
In the list of references, arrange authors' last names in alphabetical order.
When two or more references by the same author are listed, the earlier work should appear first.
As for detailed style, please refer to the attached sample; the names of proceedings and text books should be typed in italic.
-
Do not print page numbers.
Instead, write page numbers and corresponding author's name in pencil on the back of each page. Please include your paper No. given in the letter of acceptance, which must be enclosed in the same mail.
-
Please send one original and one copy of your paper to Hydroelasticity '98 Secretariat, before September 15, 1998.
