Proceedings
Proceedings will be published and handed out to the participants at the Conference. The cost of the proceedings is included in the registration fee.

Language
The official language of the Conference is English. All presentations will be in English and no translation service will be available.

Transportation
Soft Research Park (SRP) is located in Seaside Momochi district, 4 km west from the center of Fukuoka City. Subways are available from Fukuoka International Airport. There are only 8 subway stations between the Airport and the nearest subway station, Nishijin, and it will take about 20 minutes. From Nishijin Station, you can get to SRP either by walking 15 minutes or taking a bus and getting off at Ishikaikan-mae.

If you have heavy luggage, taking a taxi directly from Fukuoka International Airport can be recommended. It takes about 25 minutes via the Urban Expressway and the fare may be around 3,500 Yen.

Accommodation
Rooms have been reserved at two hotels: (1) Hyatt Residential Suites Fukuoka and (2) Twins Momochi. These are located within walking distance of the Conference site, 3 minutes for (1) and just 1 minute for (2). Prices vary from 5,900 to 7,000 Yen for a single room and from 8,000 to 10,000 Yen for a twin room, per night, excluding consumption tax of 5%. Breakfast will not be served, but cooking facilities are available. The number of rooms within each price category is limited, and therefore early registration is highly recommended.

If you wish to have a reservation made, please indicate on the Registration Form the hotel name and type of accommodation preferred, and the dates of arrival and departure. Hotel reservations should be made on or before October 15, 1998. Rooms will be allocated on 'first come, first served' basis. In the case of late registration, requested hotel reservations will not be guaranteed.

Upon receipt of your Registration Form, the Secretariat will make the reservation for you at the hotel of your choice, and a letter confirming your reservation will be sent to you by the end of October. Hotel expenses are to be settled directly with the hotel upon departure. Both hotels accept credit cards. If you cancel the reservation after receiving the letter of confirmation, please inform the hotel directly of your cancellation as soon as possible. Cancellations prior to November 25 may be accepted without any charge.

If you wish make a reservation by yourself at other hotels, the following list of recommended hotels might be helpful. Room charges listed below are per room per night, excluding service charges and tax.

Accompanying Persons' Program
In addition to the Reception and Conference Dinner, a special program will be arranged for accompanying persons. The details will be determined, depending on the number of persons who wish to join. The final program will be announced at the beginning of the Conference. Please indicate on the Registration Form whether your accompanying persons intend to participate in the special program. Accompanying persons are cordially invited to attend the Reception on December 1, free of charge.

Registration Fee
40,000 Yen: early registration (before September 15)
45,000 Yen: after September 15
The above fee includes admission to all sessions, Conference proceedings, coffee-break refreshments and lunches during the Conference, and admission to the Reception and the Conference Dinner. Registration and payment should reach the Secretariat by October 15, 1998.

Upon confirmation of your registration fee payment, the Secretariat will send you a Participation Certificate to confirm your official registration. This Participation Certificate should be shown at the Registration desk.

Payment
Payment should be made either by bank transfer to the following appointed bank account, or by bank check.

For both methods of payment, it is of utmost importance that the name of the participant(s) is clearly given. Bank, currency and transfer charges are the responsibility of the payee. Please ensure that the organizer is paid the full conference fee.

Cancellation
Cancellations must be made in writing to the Secretariat. Cancellations made prior to November 15, 1998 will be subject to a 5,000 Yen administration charge. For cancellations made on or after this date, the fees are non-refundable. Substitutes will be accepted at any time. Refunds will be processed immediately after the Conference. All bank charges incurred in making the refund must be born by the canceling party.
