Objectives A research project is being carried out in Kyushu University to develop a new ocean renewable energy system. The concept of the system is a triangle shape semi-submersible type platform with three wind turbines. Solar panels will be placed on the deck and it is also possible to install wave energy converter devices and current energy converter devices on the platform. New floating platforms are developed for this purpose, and a series of researches have been done to study their hydrodynamic performance. In 2014 a designated joint research program of RIAM was launched with the subject gR&D on Multipurpose Floating Structure for Marine Renewable Energyh, in which this workshop is included. The objective of this workshop is to provide a forum for relevant researchers to present new results and exchange ideas on ocean renewable energy technologies. This workshop will be held jointly with the international symposium [PDF], in which several world famous scholars will be invited.

Topics All relevant topics are welcome.
