| 題 目 | Nitride superluminescent diodes - basic properties and studies of spectral broadening |

| Abstract | Superluminescent diodes (SLD) are a device type which can fill the gap between light emitting diodes and laser diodes. The light generation through amplified spontaneous emission promotes high brilliance of the light source, while the low time coherence of light reduces the interference effects, unfavorable in applications such as Optical Coherence Tomography or direct image projection. This presentation introduces the basic work principles and fabrication strategies of nitride superluminescent diodes. Furthermore, a solution for emission spectrum broadening by spatial indium content engineering will be presented, including detailed optical characterization of the modified active region. |
